
A traffic stop last week lead to the arrest of a Chattooga County man and the confiscation of weed and suspected ecstasy.
On January 13th, 2021 Summerville Police Officers on patrol, noticed a vehicle traveling down State St. at an increased speed, while also not stopping at a stop sign nor using a blinker. A check of the tag, which was registered to a Black, 2011 Silverado Truck, did not match the vehicle in question which happened to be a Brown Avalon. Officers stopped the vehicle to find two known individuals, Malik Perry and passenger Jade Timmons. A strong odor of Raw Marijuana was noted and when asked, Malik admitted to having weed in a fanny pack around his neck. The bag did indeed contain 10z of suspected marijuana, digital scales, several empty baggies, and also suspected ecstasy pills.
Malik Perry was also found to have a felony probation warrant. Perry was placed under arrest and transported to the Chattooga County Jail. The vehicle was released to Jade Timmons to return home.
