
A thirty-nine-year-old man was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Summerville on Saturday.
Summerville Police say that Apache Wayne Campbell left the Circle K gas station on Commerce Street and an officer observed him get into his vehicle and leave without putting on a seat belt. The officer also said that the tag light was out on the vehicle Campbell was driving. During the traffic stop, the officer noticed that Campbell was sweating profusely and had bloodshot eyes and was acting nervous. The officer also said that he could smell alcohol on the man’s breath.
Officers found suspected methamphetamine inside a cigarette package in the vehicle.
At one point, Campbell asked if the officer would “work with him” if he provided the names of drug suppliers. The officer told Campbell he would have to speak with an investigator.
Campbell was arrested for driving with suspended or revoked license, DUI for multiple substances, open container, seat belt violation, tag light illumination and possession of methamphetamine.
