Centre firefighters responded to what was called in as a vehicle fire, shortly after 8:00 on Monday morning. When the Centre Fire Department arrived on the scene at Highway 9 and 411, they discovered that a tire was actually on fire, on a trailer which was hauling a skidder. Bad bearings apparently caused the tire to catch fire. Firefighters had everything under control in a matter of minutes.
