The Trion Bulldogs secured a hard-fought road victory Friday night, defeating the Model Blue Devils 28-21 at Model High School’s stadium in Rome, Georgia. A dramatic turnaround in the turnover battle proved to be the decisive factor for the Bulldogs, who capitalized on Model’s mistakes to clinch the win.

After struggling with nine turnovers in their first three games of the season, Trion successfully flipped the script against Model. The Bulldogs played a clean game, avoiding any giveaways, while their aggressive defense forced three crucial Blue Devil turnovers, ultimately proving to be the deciding factor.

The game remained tightly contested through the first half, with both teams knotted at 14–14. However, the third quarter belonged entirely to Trion. The Bulldogs capitalized on two Model turnovers deep in Blue Devil territory, converting both into touchdowns to take a commanding lead into the final quarter.

Despite falling behind, Model mounted a late rally, but Trion’s defense stood tall when it mattered most. With less than 30 seconds left on the clock and the Blue Devils threatening, the Bulldogs secured the victory with a game-sealing interception, thwarting Model’s final efforts.

The victory boosts Trion’s season record to an even 2–2, signaling a positive shift in their early-season performance. For the Model Blue Devils, the loss drops their record to 1–3.

The Bulldogs will look to continue their momentum next week as they return home to Sam R. McCain Stadium in Trion to host LaFayette.
