In the first Board Meeting of the New Year, the Trion Board of Education decided to continue with the current tuition rate, and not increase it.
Presently Trion Schools tuition rate is $150 per child with a cap of $450 per family. This is for any student in the Trion City School System that live outside the Trion city limits.
Superintendent Phil Williams also announced that Trion City Schools are offering Adult ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) beginning on January 19th, 2021. The classes will be held each Tuesday night and will meet until May 11th, 2021. The classes will be held at the Trion Library who has agreed to extended hours for this. Funds for these classes have been provided by Title III and the Library System. The teachers will be Katherine Navarro and Gisel Canogo. So far 6 adults have already signed up.
The next board meeting will be held on February 8th at 6p.m.
