Sheriff’s deputies were called to Walmart in Trion recently after a Trion couple was accused of not paying for all of the items that they took after using the self checkout lanes.

The couple was accused of scanning one item and then placing two items in their shopping buggy.  A self-check host at Walmart spoke with the couple and showed them how to properly scan the items, but the couple continued to “skip-scan” several more items and then attempted to walk out of the store without paying for the items that were not scanned.

Cayetana Baltazar and Pablo Baltazarat Jeronimo, both twenty-one-years-old were charged with stealing $78.02 worth of items.

The couple were transported to the Chattooga County Jail, charged with shoplifting.
