The Trion Fire Department is expanding their Burn Facility. The training center is used by the Trion Fired Department to host live-fire classes.
The Trion Fire Department posted on social media this week that work has begun on the facility and will ensure that the department can continue to train firefighters in live fire situations.
The department says that they have been trying to get this much needed addition for the past year and a half and now have the funds to begin the work. The department added that money received from Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry and funds raised from their Second Annual Community Day have allowed them to complete the addition.
In the past two years thirty- plus firefighters from Chattooga County have completed their live fire training to satisfy the state of Georgia requirements using this facility.
