Three out of five deaths from house fires in the United States are in homes that do not have properly installed, working smoke detectors. Chattooga County’s fire departments urge anyone that does not have a smoke detector, and especially if you cannot afford one, to contact your local fire department for free smoke detector installation.
The Trion Fire Department posted over the weekend, that to date, Chattooga County fire departments have installed 315 smoke alarms – free of charge – to residents of Chattooga County.
The Trion Fire Department says, “If you do not have working smoke alarms in your home, please reach out to your local fire department. If none are available in your area please let us know at Trion Fire and we will install or get smoke alarms to you immediately. Lets all work together and ensure every home in Chattooga County has a working smoke alarm.”
