The Trion Fire Department is actively recruiting dedicated individuals to join their ranks as volunteer firefighters and firefighter engineers. With attractive incentives and comprehensive training opportunities, the department aims to bolster its team and continue providing vital services to the community.
The call for volunteer firefighters includes a lucrative incentive program, offering up to $1200 every six months. Moreover, volunteers are eligible for a paid pension after 15 years of service and reaching the age of 50. Importantly, prior experience is not a prerequisite, as the Trion Fire Department provides state-certified training locally. Successful completion of this certification opens doors to potential part-time positions within the department. In addition to volunteer roles, the department is also seeking experienced firefighter engineers. These positions involve 16-hour shifts, running from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with a pay rate of $15 per hour.
The Trion Fire Department is preparing to launch Class 25-02 for State Volunteer Suppression Firefighter training in the coming months. Following the success of Class 25-01, which achieved impressive state passing rates, this upcoming session represents a valuable opportunity for aspiring firefighters. The department emphasizes that this will be the last training class offered in Trion this year, urging interested individuals to act promptly. “We are committed to providing the best possible service to our community,” stated Fire Chief Justin Lowe. “By joining our team, individuals can make a real difference while receiving excellent training and benefits.”
