Trion High School has changed its Homecoming parade plans due to expected bad weather. Originally set for Thursday evening, the traditional outdoor parade is canceled, and the school will now host an indoor “reverse parade. ” This decision came after consulting a meteorologist who forecasted a 70% chance of rain and a 60% chance of storms that night.

In a message to the community, the school acknowledged that this was a tough call but prioritized safety. The new indoor parade will take place in the gym at 7:00 PM, where participants will set up tables to showcase their float designs, distribute candy, and interact with community members walking through the gym.

Those who signed up for the original parade will have a reserved table in the gym. Additionally, community members or organizations not initially signed up for a float can now participate. They can register through a link on the Trion High School Facebook page by this (Wednesday) afternoon to help with table arrangements.

The school expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding during this change. Homecoming activities will conclude on Friday with a football game and other festivities, ensuring the spirit of the event remains strong.
