On October 8th, Trion High School’s TSA club (Technology Student Association) traveled to take part in Technology Day, which was held in Perry, Georgia. Tech Day is an all-day Georgia TSA conference that took place during the Georgia National Fair. There were eleven competitions to choose from that students could compete in. The goal was to get prospective students more interested in engineering activities. There was also a rally beforehand to get the students excited to go compete in the competitions they had prepared.

Trion’s students competed in three of the contests: the Robotic Tractor Pull, Structural Design, and the Mousetrap Car Challenge. Once they arrived at the fairgrounds, the students turned in their projects, having to wait for their placements. The rally took place during the wait, and attendees were able to meet other schools’ TSA organisations.

One of the students who attended, Anna Farmer, enjoyed the trip: “It was really cool! I got to see a lot of cool projects and to spend time with some of my friends. I can’t wait to go again next year.”

After a long day, the students finally got results. Although they didn’t place in the Tractor Pull or Structural Design, Kim Truong placed in the top twenty in the Mousetrap Car Challenge. Despite not placing in two of the three competitions, the students were still in high spirits as they left.
