The 74 year old Trion Hospital Building will soon be no more. The Town of Trion has contracted with a North Carolina Company to demolish the structure. The town will spend $74,000 getting rid of the old building and an additional $6,500 for removal of contaminated soil around the site.
The decision to remove the old Hospital Building was made after the last flodd in Trion. The hospital building has been flooded many times throughout its history.
The Trion Hospital was built in 1934. D.H. Griffin Wrecking Company of North Carolina will be doing the demolition.
