The Trion Lions Club and North Summerville Baptist Church are giving away free food to anyone in need from 10 AM until the food is gone this Saturday at the church parking lot on Maplewood Drive in Summerville.

The thirty-two pound boxes of food include 10 pounds of meat, dairy, milk and cheese and butter along with fruits and vegetables.

There are 1,300 boxes to distribute and volunteers will load one box per vehicle.

The event is a partnership between the USDA, Oakes Farms of Florida, the Trion Lions Club, North Summerville Baptist Church, Community Resource Center, the Chattooga FFA and Floyd Home Health.

Also, the Lions Club says donations of used eye-glasses, hearing aids and cell phones are welcomed.
