A deputy on patrol last week stopped a vehicle and found the driver to be impaired and under the influence of prescription drugs.

The deputy was patrolling on Mountain View Road in Trion when he ran the tag number on a vehicle and the car came back with no insurance.  The deputy initiated a traffic stop and noticed that the driver was under the influence of some sort of substance.

When the deputy asked the driver if he had been drinking or doing drugs, the driver told the deputy that he had taken his prescription medication.

After several field sobriety tests, forty-four-year-old Randall Shane Reece was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
