A thirty-six-year-old Trion man is facing felony murder charges in connection with the shooting death of forty-four-year-old Nathaniel James Pease of an Old Highway 27 address. Reports indicate that Pease and the suspect, Dakota Dodd, had been in an ongoing domestic argument at the time of the shooting. Dodd surrendered himself to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader around 2 AM on Valentine’s Day morning after the shooting on Tuesday night. He was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on the felony murder charges as well as charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI continue to investigate the incident.
