A thirty-four-year-old Trion man has been indicted by the Chattooga County Grand Jury in connection with the beating of his own grandmother after a confrontation last year.

WZQZ News reported in November of 2021 about Thomas Wayne Blackmon’s arrest after law enforcement said that he caused bodily harm to his grandmother during an argument on Rose Circle in Trion.  At the time, incident reports revealed that Blackmon had broken his grandmother’s ribs and broke her finger as he “kicked and stomped” her.   Reports at the time also revealed that Blackmon attempted to fight with his father after beating his grandmother.

Blackmon was indicted on several felony charges including aggravated battery and assault and causing bodily harm to an elderly person.
