A Floyd County Judge sentenced convicted murderer Kyle Timmons, of Trion, to life behind bars this week. Timmons was convicted of shooting and killing Dominique Spear, age 24, in the parking lot of Callier Forrest Apartments on September 23rd of last year (2014); he was found guilty of felony murder and aggravated assault back in October of this year - and was acquitted of a malice murder charge.
Reports said Timmons actually called the police at the time of the shooting and said that he had shot someone.
Timmons testified that he didn’t bring a gun to the Callier Forest Apartments when he shot and killed Spear.
He testified that he found the Jennings .22 caliber pistol in Spear’s waistband during a fight.
Reports added that the incident’s roots began around a month before, when Timmons and Spear got into a fight at Rambo’s Sports Bar & Grill on North Broad Street.
