The Trion Town Council has turned down a proposal by local real estate agent Steve Baker to annex property into the town limits.

Earlier this year, the Trion Town Council had voted to delay a vote on the measure which was a proposal for the town to annex property belonging to Tim Perry.  Baker was asking for the annexation so that the town could provide sewer service for the property.

The Town Council had tabled the proposal in January to give them time to speak with the town’s attorney, Chris Corbin.

Trion Mayor Lanny Thomas told WZQZ News that the issue failed to receive a motion when it was brought up at last week’s council meeting.
