The GHSA power rankings were released this morning and they differed slightly from the projections AM 1180 released yesterday evening.  Trion did indeed wrap up the #11 Power Ranking as projected, however the #6 ranked team is now Marion County instead of Irwin County.  

Now for the confusing part.  The playoff brackets will not mirror the Power Rankings. Region champions will be placed first in the brackets sorted by their power ranking followed by non-region champions sorted by their power ranking.  What this means to Trion fans is that Seminole County, who is ranked 9th in the Power Rankings and also a region champion, will be moved up in the brackets due to the fact they are a region champion.  

It is believed that when the brackets are released on Wednesday, Irwin County will be Trion's opponent.  Trion fans must wait until Wednesday to view the official playoff brackets which will more than likely differ from the power rankings released on Tuesday.
