One thing that Trion Mayor Larry Stansell and the Trion Town Council all agree on is that the current Town Hall is in need of costly repairs.  What needs to be done about Town Hall is a question that has not been resolved.

Recently, the town asked for bids to re-roof the deteriorating roof at the town’s municipal building that hold both the town offices and the Trion Police Department.  Mayor Stansell says that the roof isn’t the only issue.  There is mold in the building and their are ADA updates that would cost thousands of dollars to get the building up to code.

While some on the Town Council aren’t warming up to the idea of a new building to house the town’s municipal government just yet, they say that they are willing to get public input on what needs to be done – including the possibility of a new town hall and police department.

A meeting has been scheduled for next week, Thursday July 15th at 6 PM at Trion Town Hall.
