Voters in Trion will be electing a new mayor this November.  Incumbent Mayor Larry Stansell did not qualify for another term.

Former Trion Mayor and current town councilman Lanny Thomas has qualified for Mayor as has Richard Greeson.

All of the incumbent council members will be facing opposition this November.  For Seat 1, Jeff “Fro” Wilson will face off against Casey Brown.  In the Seat 2 race, incumbent Becky McWhorter will face challenger Dr. Meagan Stowe Watson.  For Seat 3, incumbent Mickey McGraw drew a challenge from Tony Day.

In the Trion City School Board election, all three incumbents qualified with no opposition.  They are:

Seat 1 – Darriel Broome

Seat 2 – Jonny Brimer

Seat 3 – Billy “Randy” Henderson, Jr.
