Since 2017 Trion School System has participated in the REACH program that selects several 8th grade students each year to receive a $10,000 scholarship for college.
The REACH program goes through a selection process and those students who are selected sign a contract with their parents/guardians promising to maintain a 2.5 GPA throughout high school. They must also remain crime, drug, and behavior issue free during their high school years, as well as meet with a volunteer mentor and an academic coach until they graduate.
Each Scholar who completes all the program requirements receives a $10,000 scholarship that was earmarked for them. They can receive up to $2,500 per year for up to 4 years to be used at a 2- or 4-year Georgia REACH eligible institution.
This year’s REACH Scholars are Estefani Diaz-Ramos, Karis Evans, Cali Pena, Melvin Ramirez Pablo, and Raegan Trammell. Congratulations to all these outstanding recipients.
