The Trion City School System released its weekly COVID-19 report on Friday.

According to the report, there are two positive cases of coronavirus at Trion Elementary School; four cases at Trion Middle School; five cases at Trion High School for a total of 11 cases in the school district.

Additionally, seven district staff members have tested positive for the coronavirus this past week.

The Trion Board of Education Office on Simmons Street was closed several days last week due to the number of school district employees testing positive.  Dr. Phil Williams, Superintendent of Trion City Schools, told WZQZ News that the office was being cleaned and fumigated before reopening.

There was no COVID-19 report this week from the Chattooga County School District since students did distance-learning leading up to their Christmas break.
