Two Chattooga County teenagers landed behind bars in Catoosa County facing drug charges in connection with a high-speed chase that took place in Ft Oglethorpe.

According to the Police Department report, 18 year old Alex Tyler Wallin and 19 year old Rodney Cameron Wyatt – both of Trion – were arrested on charges of possessing marijuana and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Wyatt was additionally charged with fleeing/attempting to elude, reckless driving and with driving too fast for conditions.  The incident occurred just after 4:30am on Dietz Road when Lt. Keith Sewell observed a vehicle speeding away from him, going at least 70 in the 35 mph zone.  Wyatt, who was driving – refused to pull over, and instead sped up – traveling toward Daily Hills Road and onto Pine Grove Road.

That chase finally came to an end at a residence on Pine Grove Road, after Wyatt reportedly drove through the yard, and around to the back of the house, where they bailed out and fled on foot; the two were captured a short time later.

According to reports, a search of the vehicle turned up a small bag of marijuana. Wallin told officers he had no idea why Wyatt refused to stop, and denied knowledge of any marijuana being in the vehicle; Wyatt, on the other hand said Wallin encouraged him to run

Bond for Wallin has been set at $5,000 while bond for Wyatt was set at $11,500.
