Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies charged a Trion woman with obstruction of officers after she resisted arrest while being taken into custody over the weekend.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, thirty-two-year-old Brittany Schrader was wanted on a warrant for financial identity fraud, financial transaction card fraud and theft by deception.  Deputies had information that Schrader was at a Church Street, Trion address.

When deputies arrived on the scene to serve the warrant, they found Schrader hiding in an outbuilding behind a residence.  After advising Schrader that they had a warrant for her arrest, deputies said that Schrader refused to put her hand behind her back to be handcuffed and began resisting arrest.  After a brief struggle with deputies, Schrader was arrested and placed in the patrol car and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

Now, in addition to the warrant, Schrader is facing charges of obstruction of law enforcement.
