Chattooga County residents cast their ballots in the Super Tuesday Presidential Preference Primary, and the results closely mirrored the statewide vote in Georgia with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump dominating the Democratic and Republican Primaries.

Trump garnered 1,674 votes in the Republican primary with Ted Cruz coming in second with 635 votes.  Marc Rubio received 523 votes; Ben Carson 292, John Kasich 74 – and Rand Paul, who has already dropped out of the race received 6 votes.

Hillary Clinton bested her rival Bernie Sanders with 566 votes to Sanders’ 302 votes. 

Voters are reminded that local and state races will be coming up in the Georgia Primary which will be held on May 24th.
