The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) announced last week that its college police departments, serving 88 campuses across 22 colleges, have achieved full State Certification through the Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program. This is the first time a statewide college system in the nation has received this accreditation simultaneously.

TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the police as vital for the safety of students, faculty, and staff. The certification reflects a commitment to accountability, trust, and service. The Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program is highly regarded for setting standards in public safety, requiring agencies to meet over 100 professional standards in areas like professionalism and community engagement.

Each department underwent a detailed review of their policies and operations to ensure they provide high-quality law enforcement services. TCSG Chief of Police Jen Ziifle emphasized that this certification signifies the dedication of campus police to public safety and community trust, creating safe environments for everyone on campus.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Police Department is among those that achieved the certification.
