On Tuesday, shortly after noon, Georgia State Troopers from Post 38 in Rome responded to an accident on the Lyerly Dam Road, just south of the Chattooga County Transfer Station in Lyerly to a two-vehicle crash.  Troopers say that a 2015 KIA Sorento was traveling west on Lyerly Dam Road and entered a right-hand curve.  A 2013 Hyundai Sonata traveling south was entering the same curve to the left.  The KIA failed to maintain its lane traveled into the southbound lane and struck the Hyundai in the left front with its front end.  The driver of the Hyundai and three passengers were transported to Atrium Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment.
