A Tunnel Hill man remained Monday morning in the Catoosa County jail after he allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old Dalton girl at his home.

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office report:

Joshua Levi Poirot, 21, of 325 Pine Hill Road, was arrested Saturday, March 19. He faces charges of rape, statutory rape, aggravated child molestation, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. As of Monday, bond had not been set for Poirot.

The arrest came after Catoosa County sheriff’s detectives were contacted by Catoosa 911 regarding a sexual assault uncovered by a Whitfield County sheriff’s deputy.

While on the scene of an unrelated arrest, Whitfield County deputies were told by a 15-year-old girl about the rape of her friend who was being treated at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.

Catoosa sheriff’s detectives Tim Busby and Freddie Roden met with Whitfield deputies near the county line along Ga. 41, where the friend of the rape victim claimed she could show detectives where the incident occurred, because she was present at the time it took place.

The teen rode with detectives Busby and Roden and pointed out 325 Pine Hill Road in Tunnel Hill as the inci-dent location.

The girl was then driven back to the county line where Whitfield County deputy Beth Gomez and the girl’s grandparents were waiting for her.

Detective Busby was instructed by detective Roden to respond to Hamilton Medical Center to ensure that a rape exam was conducted on the victim, while Roden returned to the incident location to contact with the suspect.

Poirot confessed to the crime during the interview with the detective Roden. Poirot was arrested and trans-ported to Catoosa County jail.
