On Sunday, Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the area of Dot Johnson Road and the railroad tracks in Summerville, in reference to a domestic incident in which there was reportedly a gun.

Upon their arrival at the location, officers were met by a group of individuals stating they’d been shot at, and that two males, one white, one black, were running down the train tracks toward the Trade Day grounds. 

The two were spotted moments later near Elder Trailer Park Road on the tracks; both were quickly taken into custody and placed in handcuffs.  Officers were told that the gun could be found in a ditch by the side of the railroad tracks – and it was quickly located and taken into evidence.

Witness and victim statements were gathered and it appeared the incident actually started earlier that same day – when threats were allegedly made to “shoot up” the home of one of the victims.

Upon completing written statements both males were transported to the Chattooga County Jail without incident; while at the jail one of those suspects was found to be in possession of a green leafy substance  believed to be marijuana.

Charges filed included Aggravated Assault, the Possession of Marijuana less than one ounce and Crossing the Guardline with Contraband.
