Two Rome men have been arrested on misdemeanor charges of hunting at night, hunting from a public roadway, and hunting from a vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

22-year-old Robert Tayler Barnes discharged his pistol on Callier Springs Road at Mountain View Road at around 1:30 AM Thursday in an attempt to strike a deer that was in a wooded area about 30 yards away. Barnes is additionally charged with killing a deer at night, reckless conduct, and discharge of a firearm near a public street or highway.

Barnes was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Jesse James Hayden Gott.
