Two unrelated, single-vehicle traffic accidents on Sunday evening in the Trion area stalled traffic and kept the Georgia State Patrol and local law enforcement busy and caused delays for motorists.

One accident happened on Penn Bridge Road when an out-of-town driver pulling a U-Haul trailer overturned.  The accident happened in the sharp curve past the bridge.  The driver, who was from Pennsylvania, said that he was traveling too fast for conditions and overcorrected.  Penn Bridge Road was closed for a period of time.

Another accident on Highway 27 near Wal-Mart happened when a driver reached in the floorboard to pick up something and ran off the road, striking a power pole.  The driver ended up in the field near Wal-Mart and power lines were across Highway 27, closing the roadway for several hours.
