On Saturday, Dowdy Park and the Historic Summerville Depot will come alive with fall festivities for the entire family. The Community Fall Festival will be held at Dowdy Park and the Summerville Depot from 10:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m. Try your hand at the Old Fashioned Cake Walk; enjoy free hayrides, a jump house, face painting, games, great food and vendors, festivities and more! Train fans will not want to miss the Double Steam Engine arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Passenger Train. Following the arrival, spectators will view the Summerville Turntable in action turning the majestic steam engines. Several fun contests are scheduled for the day including a Children’s Homemade Halloween Costume Contest, and The Spooky Pooch Costume Contest. Registration for each of these contests will be located at Dowdy Park in the middle gazebo from 11 AM-noon. The announcement of winners for the Children’s Costume Contest will be held at 12:30 pm. The Spooky Pooch Costume Parade and judging will follow at 12:45 PM, with an announcement of winners at 1 pm.

On Sunday, October 29 from 11:00 AM-3 PM, come enjoy some great local food and specialty items at the Historic Summerville Depot. This is an event you don’t want to miss. The Depot will be filled with direct sales, specialty and craft items, great food, and live entertainment. As an added bonus, a Double Steam Engine arrival of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Passenger Train is scheduled for 1 PM. Admission is free.
