Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle collision, near Roper Corporation, Tuesday morning in LaFayette. According to Walker County 9-1-1 emergency responders were dispatched to 1507 Broomtown Road at Roper due to the wreck. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a man driving a silver Pontiac G5 turn into Roper behind a truck. The man turned left into the plant entrance in front of a woman driving a dark gray Nissan Sentra – causing the Nissan to collide with the Pontiac.

The man was taken to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga due to the injuries sustained to his neck and knees.

The woman was treated at the scene due to airbag burns, an injured shoulder and knee.

She will mostly likely be transported to an area hospital as well.

Broomtown Road was blocked off near Shaw Industries and Roper the later part of the morning as the scene was being cleared.

Georgia State Patrol Post 41 in LaFayette, Walker County Sheriff's Department, LaFayette Police Department, LaFayette Fire Department, and Puckett EMS responded to the scene.
