Predicting winter weather in the South is a tricky-business.  Conditions for winter precipitation often change and most forecasters will tell you, except in a few rare cases, it is almost impossible to accurately predict snowfall until 36-48 hours out from the event in our part of the country.  With that said, the National Weather Service has two mentions of snow in the forecast for the coming week.

The first mention is on Monday night going into Tuesday morning.  There is a 20% chance of precipitation and temperatures will be very close to freezing.  The forecast is calling for rain mixing with snow after 10 PM on Monday and before 8 AM on Tuesday.

The next mention of snow is Thursday night when there is a 40% chance of snow showers.  But the big news for Thursday night is the low temperature will be around 14 degrees!

Could it be a white Christmas?  We will have to wait and see, and we will continue to keep you up to date.
