Two more people have been arrested in connection with a reported rape that occurred back on July 24.

According to Floyd County Jail records, the victim was forced into a vehicle at the Sunrise Motel and driven to a trailer on Rockmart Highway and was not allowed to leave. She was beaten, burned on the leg, cut with a knife on her left shoulder and raped.

Thirty-five-year-old Jennifer Irene Swanson of Rome and thirty-eight-year-old Jose Velasquez Jr. of Fort Payne, Alabama are charged with party to the crime of rape, aggravated assault, and false imprisonment. Velasquez is also charged with kidnapping.

Another suspect, thirty-seven-year-old James Joshua Perez was arrested on August 11 on charges of rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment and aggravated assault.
