The local paper reported on Thursday that Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry has received two bids that would provide free ambulance service for Chattooga County. One of those bids is from the existing provider – Advent Health Redmond and the other is from Atrium Health Floyd.
The commissioner said that it will take him about two weeks to review the two proposals from the ambulance providers.
Redmond EMS has been providing free ambulance service to the county for over a decade.
The commissioner had said that since both hospitals had new owners, now was a good time to rebid the service in an effort to provide more benefits for residents of Chattooga County.
