On Friday of last week, Summerville Police officers responded to a report of a fight that had occurred earlier at Fairway Recreation Center.
Police went to Hawkins Drive and spoke with twenty-year-old Alissa Blackmon who said that she had gotten into an altercation with another woman and the woman had knocked her down and jumped on top of her. The officer observed physical evidence of the earlier altercation between the two women. Blackmon told police that Jakayla McDaniel, age 19, was the other woman she had been fighting with.
When officers spoke with McDaniel, she told police that Blackmon had “said some things about her aunt” and that she had tracked Ms. Blackmon down to have words with her. McDaniel reportedly told Blackmon “if she said anything else about her aunt she would get slapped”, according to the report from the police department. McDaniel said that Blackmon got out of her vehicle and struck McDaniel with her car door and that is when the fight ensued.
Police say that neither woman wanted to press charges against the other. Both were advised that a report of the incident would be on file at the police department.
