The head of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, Ben Ayers, spoke last week during UGA’s Georgia Economic Outlook series and said that Georgia’s economy will likely slow in 2024, but not enough to cause a recession.

The good news is Georgia will likely see a slight increase in the state’s Gross Domestic Product and a slight growth rate, along with a slight increase in the number of jobs created.

Ayers said that Georgia’s economy will likely outperform the national economy and he believes that inflation will continue to fall, which will likely lower interest rates for consumers.
