Reports released this week by the Summerville Police Department add details to Tuesday’s arrest of Lorraine Morris.

According to incident reports filed by city police, an officer on road patrol saw the 53-year-old Roslyn Lane resident drift into the lefthand lane of traffic while heading west down Ramey Street in her 1996 Buick Century. 

The officer pulled Morris over at Bill’s Heating and Cooling around 6:30 PM, where she said that she had swerved while on the phone with her son. 

Citing Morris’ unusual behavior and unsafe driving, the officer requested permission to search the vehicle’s cab.

After Morris consented to the search, the officer found two pills of a prescription medication that were not in their original bottle. 

Morris later produced proof that the medicine was hers, but per state law, she was arrested for failing to keep drugs in their original container, as well as charged with failure to maintain lane and Georgia hands free law.
