There were several uncontested races in yesterday’s primary elections.  On the Republican ballot there were no challengers.  That means Charles Black will be the nominee for County Commissioner, Fondren Wright will be the nominee for Tax Commissioner and Betty Brady will be the Republican nominee for State House District 11.  Jeff Mullis of Walker County will be the nominee for the 53rd State Senate Race.

In the Democratic primary, Coroner Earle Rainwater, Chief Magistrate Tracy Maddux, Probate Judge Jon Payne and Clerk of Court Lan Cordle had no challengers and also do not have any Republican Challengers in the general election.  Incumbent state representative Barbara Massey Reece had no opposition on the Democratic ballot but will face off with Betty Brady in the November general election.  Democrat Bruce Coker will be the Democratic nominee facing off with incumbet Jeff Mullis in November for the 53rd Sentate district seat.
