A twenty-year-old Chattooga County man was arrested last week after nearly striking a deputy’s patrol car on Highway 100 near Wildlife Lake Road.
The deputy said that he observed the vehicle cross the center lane and into the opposite lane – nearly striking the patrol vehicle. The deputy caught up with the vehicle near Middle School Drive on Highway 100 and initiated a traffic stop.
While speaking to the driver, identified as Andrew Allen Cole, the officer noticed that driver’s eyes were watery and there was an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. After a field sobriety test and an Alco-Sensor test, Cole was arrested on charges of DUI and booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
