After a spike in unemployment, the numbers across Northwest Georgia are beginning to fall.  Every county in Northwest Georgia saw a decrease in unemployment, according to the latest numbers from the Georgia Department of Labor.

“We are continuing to see a surge in employment here in Georgia,” said Commissioner of Labor Mark Butler. “As Georgians return to the workforce and businesses continue to hire, we can look forward to steady economic growth across the state.”

Chattooga County’s unemployment fell to 5.3 percent, according to the latest numbers; that’s down 1.4 percent from the previous month.
