WZQZ News reported that the unemployment rate in Chattooga County was down slightly for the month of November from 3.9% in October to 3.7% last month.  The Georgia Department of Labor says that the entire Northwest Georgia region is seeing lower unemployment rates.

The numbers for the Northwest Regional Commission, which includes Chattooga and surrounding counties had an unemployment rate of 2.7% for November, which was up two-tenths of a point from November of 2021.  The labor force in the Northwest Georgia area was down 2,083 workers to 428,723 and the number of unemployed was down 596 over last month and 830 over last year.  There are currently 417,052 employed workers in the region.

There are still plenty of jobs available in Northwest Georgia.  The Georgia Department of Labor says that there are currently 4,768 jobs posted on the DOL website at www.employgeorgia.com
