…LIGHT WINTRY MIX POSSIBLE ACROSS PARTS OF NORTH GEORGIA THIS
EVENING AND OVERNIGHT…

LIGHT PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD IN ACROSS NORTH AND
CENTRAL GEORGIA THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT. ALTHOUGH TEMPERATURES
WILL REMAIN ABOVE FREEZING FOR MOST AREAS… A MIXTURE OF LIGHT
RAIN… SLEET AND SNOW WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE THROUGH THE EVENING FOR
AREAS GENERALLY NORTH OF A LA GRANGE TO MCDONOUGH TO GAINESVILLE
LINE. THE SNOW AND SLEET WILL BE GENERALLY LIGHT AND NO SIGNIFICANT
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED…EXCEPT ON ELEVATED AND GRASSY SURFACES.
HOWEVER… SOME ICY SPOTS ARE POSSIBLE ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.

THE MAIN AREA OF CONCERN WILL BE FAR NORTH GEORGIA… WHERE A WINTRY
MIX WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO
REMAIN AT OR ABOVE FREEZING ACROSS MOST AREAS OVERNIGHT…BUT WILL
REMAIN COOL ENOUGH TO ALLOW A MIX OF RAIN…SLEET AND POSSIBLY SNOW
NORTH OF A LINE FROM ROME TO CLEVELAND. SOME HIGHER ELEVATIONS
ACROSS NORTHEAST GEORGIA… AND POSSIBLY SOME MOUNTAIN VALLEYS MAY
SEE BRIEF PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN TOWARD EARLY FRIDAY MORNING IF
TEMPERATURES CAN DIP TO THE FREEZING MARK. AT THIS TIME… BECAUSE
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN ABOVE FREEZING FOR MOST OF THE
NIGHT… NO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF SLEET OR ICE ARE EXPECTED.

MOTORISTS ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA SHOULD BE ALERT FOR ICY SPOTS ON
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES THIS EVENING AND POSSIBLY OVERNIGHT. REMEMBER
TO SLOW DOWN AND LEAVE EXTRA DISTANCE BETWEEN YOURSELF AND THE CAR
IN FRONT OF YOU.

LISTEN TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR LOCAL MEDIA FOR THE LATER
UPDATES ON THIS SITUATION.
