As Chattooga County Residents deal with the news of indictments regarding the 2006 general election, our neighbors in Cedar Bluff, Alabama are dealing with a voting incident in their recent mayoral race.
A lawsuit which could affect the outcome of the Mayors race, and two positions on the Town Council in the recent Cedar Bluff Municipal Election, was recently filed in Circuit Court by Jimmy Wallace, Lenora McWhorter, and Billie Burkhalter.
The suit, which was thought to be on the fast track, may now be hitting a few obstacles.
On September the 4th, an order was issued recusing the three Circuit Court Judges in Cherokee County.
The lawsuit was filed citing alleged mishandling of absentee ballots. There were a total of 27 absentee ballots being challenged.
Some of those who witnessed those ballots have also employed legal counsel to help them navigate through this legal process.
The question now is – will the case be heard in the Cherokee County Courthouse, and if so, by whom ?
