The name of the person fatally injured in the Polk County accident involving a log truck and a mail truck has now been released.
Post Office employee Gina W. Jackson, age 52 of Cedartown was fatally injured in the crash
Jackson’s body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab where an autopsy will be conducted.
That wreck took place on Tuesday afternoon on Highway 27 at Collard Valley Road.
According to reports, witnesses stated that the driver of that log truck, 33 year old Antwain Durell Pearson of Carrollton, ran the red light, and crashed into Jackson’s mail van while it was crossing the intersection. Pearson’s truck overturned and he was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Reportedly, charges are pending.
Reports also indicated that Pearson had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.
