FEMA will setup a command post in the Trion area to offer rental assistance to those displaced by the floods. Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters says the site will be up and running probably within 72 hours. An exact location for FEMA to setup has not been established yet.
* There is a bank account for Trion City Flood Relief Fund open for donations at United Community Bank.
* Free Tetanus shots are being offered to flood victims. Hometown Medical Center and Harbin Clinic donated these shots. Flood victims can get these shots at Doctor Herman Spivey’s old office in Summerville, off Stockade Road, according to Trion School Counselor Mary Myers
* Town officials say Trion water users need to continue to boil their water.
* Clothing and food care packages are available for Trion flood victims at the Trion Elementary School.
* Chattooga County residents need to understand that the donated food, water, cleaning supplies and other relief assistance is only for flood victims.
* People from the Georgia Baptist Convention will offer free assistance to help remove wet carpet, sheet rock and other items from people’s damaged houses. They have set up a site at one of the churches. These folks will also be walking the area wearing yellow shirts if people need assistance.
