The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) approved tuition rates for the 2025-26 academic year, keeping tuition flat for most in-state undergraduates, while increasing out-of-state tuition by 2% and out-of-country tuition by 3%.

This marks the seventh time in ten years that tuition has remained stable for Georgia students, with average increases over the past decade being less than 1%, which is below inflation.

Exceptions were made for the University of North Georgia (UNG) and Albany State University (ASU), where tuition will increase slightly to align with prevailing rates. Chancellor Sonny Perdue stressed the commitment to affordability and the importance of higher education for Georgia families.

Additionally, changes to mandatory fees at eight institutions were approved, with some fees being reduced. An independent report noted a significant decrease in USG tuition after inflation adjustments, making it more affordable than in 2017. USG is considered one of the most affordable university systems in the South and nationally, ranking low in both state and national tuition comparisons.
