
On Monday Chattooga County Sheriff Deputies responded a theft on Riverhaven Lane in Menlo.
On January 11th, 2021 Deputies responded to Riverhaven Ln in reference to a burglary that had already occurred.
Deputies spoke with Matthew Osburn, who stated someone had came into his camper using a small door on the side of the camper that led under the sink. Mr. Osburn stated he left his residence at 10am on Sunday and when he returned later that night he noticed that the board cover for the hole under the sink had fallen over and that all of Jamie Swanson’s belongings were gone. He stated he didn’t think anything about the items being stolen due to him
believing Ms. Swanson had came and took them.
Deputies then spoke with Ms. Swanson who stated she was out of town that night and when she returned she saw that her jewelry was stolen along with clothing items and two purses. Ms. Swanson could not give the number of jewelry that was taken but did stated that she was missing necklaces, rings, and bracelets that were valued at one thousand dollars as well as the clothing items that were stolen. A Coach bag valued at one hundred and fifty dollars and a Fossil bag valued at eighty dollars were also stolen.
This case is still active and under investigation.
